As life returns to normal so the Retail Industry is bouncing back and trying to lure customers accustomed to shopping online back into their stores.
Key to getting customers through the door is to have attractive and impactful window displays that are both enticing and exciting.
When high end fashion retailer Harvey Nicholls visual merchandising team called Vector lighting for their input to create bright and attractive displays they naturally approached us collaborate to deliver bright high quality items that would enhance the fashions on display. The brief was for bright, bold, straight lines leading the eye to the mannequins clad in the latest designer fashions.
For the light source LED tape was naturally selected for its ease of installation, long life, low energy cost and brightness. However LED tape is made of many modules that without a diffuser gives a very bright spotting effect. This was not what Harvey Nicholls wanted. Working closely with the designers and installers at Vector we came up with a simple fabrication in frosted Opal Acrylic that would diffuse the LED spotting and provide bright even illumination but also be easy to install.
Additionally where the light bars intersected Harvey Nicholls wanted the crossover to be seamless – this was accommodated by fabricating intersections in the frosted Opal.
With several floors and many windows to be dressed in a limited amount of time while the store was closed overnight each window was packaged up as a clearly labelled set so the team could work quickly and efficiently. Efficiency was in fact the watch word throughout the project as from initial inquiry to full installation was required in only 10 days.
We are pleased to report that the installation went off without a hitch and the customer was delighted with the results.
